HS007 - Infants' Class- 1912

This photograph, taken of the Infants' Class, in 1912, shows a group of what looks like waifs and strays!

The woman, on the right, can't be seen clear enough to be sure but she is most likely my grandmother, Emily Harriet Newport (née Aslett) as she was the Infants' Mistress, at that time and would have been 39 years old, which fits her, apparent, age reasonably well.

Sometimes, when my grandmother was sick or preganant (which she was twelve times between 1891 and 1917!) there would be assistants of one sort or another to stand in for her until she was able to return but, at least, she wasn't pregnant in 1912!

The woman is, also, wearing a wedding ring and, as far as I am aware, all her assistants were single.

The photograph wasn't taken in the school playground because of, what seems to be, open country behind them while the school is on flat land and surrounded by hedges and bordered by a main road.

I've tried to enhance just the the woman's head and face but have not been successful enough to be able say whether or not she is my grandmother.
