I′ve tried to be as accurate as possible and only include those ancestors that I have been able to prove are mine beyond, more than, a reasonable doubt, but, as one goes back in time, few records were, generally, kept on the ordinary person and, anyway, very little information was given in those records.
Then, there are three other problems - has the record survived, how accurate is the information given or was a mistake made in the original entry, and, finally, is there sufficient information there to make a judgement?
There′s the tendency to work on the understanding that there were far less people living in the country, way back in the past, so that the person with the right name, in the right village, at the right time, is, probably. (no guarantees, unfortunately) the one you′re looking for. It′s a problem but, in the absence of any other, hard-copy, recorded proof, it comes down to that, plus agreement, on your thoughts, with other researchers – and a lot of intuition! This is where siblings or other proven ancestors cna help to determine the likelihood of a possible ancestor being just that.
All the "family trees" are in "pdf" format so, in order to see them, you will need to have installed on your computer, a software program called "Adobe Acrobat Reader". If you haven't got this program, it′s available, for free, on the Internet and can be downloaded from the official Adobe Company website - as well as many other websites. Look for the "Reader", download, click "Run" and it will install itself, ready to use.
